Creating 2-D digital imagery that combines the aesthetic of modern minimalist vector art with the familiar charm of cel-shaded animation from the 1980’s and 90’s.

A style developed out of necessity, in order to compliment the already minimalist visual style of the Galaxxor figures, my illustration aesthetic has taken on a life of its own. Originally, the approach had been minimalist, bordering upon abstract, in order to highlight the figures that it was supplementary to. But over time, the style began to morph into something a bit more literal and narrative. Eventually, I began to incorporate a n effect reminiscent of the traditional cel shading approach to the popular animation of the late 20th century. Essentially, implying an “entertainment” element that was complementary to the figures, themselves.

This style continues to morph and evolve as I roll out a merchandise program for the brand, including stickers, pins, and clothing.
